Jimoh Ibrahim's workers protest unpaid salaries live on TV as he gives public lecture


The billionaire businessman was on a live broadcast on AIT giving a public lecture during the Energy Group 5th GMD conference when his staff from National Mirror stormed the event, interrupted it and asked him to pay them their salaries for many months. 

Addressing the issue, Mr Ibrahim said he has 16 companies and only one of those companies has staff protesting lack of unpaid salaries and blamed it on the top management of the company. He said he would pay the salaries of the workers of National Mirror for five months on the condition that the MD and DMD will resign immediately after the conference.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is now a premier league legend after breaking the record for the highest number of goals scored by a player in the English Premier League with his superb effort against Liverpool this evening.  This comes just days after his brace helped the Red Devils stumble to a 3-3 draw against Premier League side Newcastle United. Rooney went ahead of Thierry Henry's record of 175 Premier League goals for a single club. He has scored five times in United's four January fixtures and adding to his career total of 242 career goals for the Manchester club.

Police detectives attached to Ogijo Division of Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday arrested two suspected pipeline vandals at Agbowa area in Ogijo, Sagamu local government area of Ogun state, PM News reports.  The suspects identified as Olamilekan Omoga and Musiliu Atowu were arrested with a Vago bus with 44 (forty four) 50 litres jerry cans of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS.  According to a statement released on Thursday, January 21 by the State Police spokesman, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the operation, which was led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ogijo Division, acted on a tip off that some vandals were operating in the area and were able to arrest them.  The State Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulmajid Ali has directed that other members of the gang be apprehended without delay and thorough investigation be carried out on the case.  Ali, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police and second-in-command in the Ogun State Police Com...
