President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).   The president also directed the outgoing Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, to proceed on a 3-month pre-retirement leave as provisioned by Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243 with effect from October 18, 2023, leading to his eventual retirement from service on January 17, 2023.   The new Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi, will assume office in acting capacity on October 18, 2023, and will continue to serve in substantive capacity for a fresh term of four years, beginning on January 17, 2023.   Tinubu also approved the dissolution of the Board of NAHCON.   Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said the president expects the new NAHCON leadership to serve in reverence of Alla

The Chief Magistrate of a court two in Tunga, Minna, Niger State has sentenced five men to 60 years imprisonment with hard labour for being in  possession  of a human skull.    Each of the convicts will spend 12 years in prison for attempting to commit a money ritual with the skull. Chief Magistrate Fati Umar Hassan, who passed the judgment on Monday, October 16, 2023, found them guilty on a three-count charge which bordered on criminal conspiracy, trespass on the burial ground, and unlawful possession of a human skull.   The convicts are Ibrahim Jiya, Suleiman Usman, Abdullahi Usman, Idris Mohammed, and Isah Mohammed, all from Sakpe village of Edati Local government  area of Niger State.  Police prosecutor, Inspector Mua’azu  Abdullahi, said the three count charges were punishable under sections 97,213 and 219 of the penal code law respectively. Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old man, Akaninyene Sunday Isaac, for killing his biological mother, Christiana Sunday Isaac, in Oruk Uso Otoro Village in Abak Local Government Area of the state.      It was gathered that Isaac hacked his 55-year-old mother to death with a machete for allegedly starving him for three days.      She was said to have died before she could get medical attention.      The body of the woman has been deposited in a mortuary.      Spokesperson of the command, SP Odiko Macdon, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, October 16, 2023.     The PPRO said operatives of Abak Division arrested the suspect on the 11th of October.     “During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and alleged that his mother failed to give him food for three days, hence he used a machete to inflict grievous injuries on her, leading to her death,” the statement reads.    “Suspect will have his day in court as soon as the investigation is conclu

  Media personality, Dotun’s estranged wife, Taiwo Oyebanjo, has finally broken her silence.   In a series of posts shared on her Instagram page on Saturday night, October 14, Taiwo said the OAP knows where his kids are and should stop misleading Nigerians.   She says she can never recover from the trauma Dotun allegedly put her through while they were married and wondered how he expected her to raise their girls in such an environment.   Taiwo also expresed her displeasure at Dotun bashing her brother, singer DBanj. She said that she was the one married to him and not DBanj and wants Dotun to stop involving her brother in their marital issues.   Dotun has been on social media for some days now demanding access to his daughters. Kenyan authorities have arrested a fake lawyer, Brian Mwenda, who has won 26 cases while parading himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.  According to reports, the lawyer handled 26 cases before High Court Judges, Magistrates, and Court of Appeal Judges before his arrest, all of which he won.  He was arrested by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Nairobi Branch Rapid Action Team (RAT) for false pretences, when they received public complaints.  Nairobi Branch disclosed on their X account that he is not an advocate and does not have a license to practice law in Kenya.  “It has been brought to the attention of the LSK Nairobi Branch through the Rapid Action Team (RAT), that the man has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch,” read the notice in part.    He is being held at the RAT headquarters pending further investigation.

Two Nigerian ladies, Kadira Ayomide and Zizipops have engaged in a war of words on X over whose boobs are better. It all started after Ayomide commented on Zizipops' photo, seemingly suggesting she wore padded bras with fake nipples.    Zizipop's hit back at Ayomide, saying “My breast no fall like your own. A skydiver who died after making a hard landing on a front lawn has been identified as a 69-year-old lawyer.   Frederick Morello was found on the lawn of a home near a Titusville airpark in Florida around 12.30pm on Saturday, Oct. 7.   The experienced skydiver practiced law out of Daytona Beach. He had posted dozens of pictures of himself in the sky on his law office website, in a section titled “Fred’s passion”.   The section included the quote: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”   Morello apparently tried to do a solo parachute jump when he died.   “The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male outfitted in parachute attire and gear was located on the lawn of a residence on the 2600 block of Merry Lane,” Titusville police stated.   Morello was pronounced dead at the scene.   A surveillance camera on the property next door recorded the accident.   Vietnam veteran James Sconiers said the skydiver landed on his f
